If you live on the south side of Brisbane, the only place to skate is at the DIGI Roller Skating Rink at Hillcrest. There are two other skating rinks on the north side, one at Nundah and the other at Albany Creek, but for everyone on the south side, Digi’s is the place to learn to skate.
Why learn to skate?
You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy skating, because even as adults, we still like to have fun and skating is the very definition of fun. So you can send the kids along with their friends, go along on your own or grab a few friends and head off to the skating rink to learn to skate.
Skating has lots of other benefits, apart from the fun aspect – it is a great form of exercise and is easy on the joints, you can make heaps of new friends and expand your social circle, and it gets both the kids and yourself away from the TV or the computer.
There are different levels of skating and as you progress through these levels, you will increase your skills and become more confident in yourself. You can even learn artistic skating, try your skills at hockey on skates, and learn speed skating or join the Roller Derby – skating can become your new passion!
The learn to skate program at Digi’s
Digi’s have fully qualified and certified coaches available for public lessons and for private lessons. If you want to join in the public coaching sessions, these are held these on Saturdays from 9am to 10am for anyone and there is no need to book, just turn up on time. They also have a public learn to skate session for adults on Wednesdays from 9.30 to 11am.
For their private group coaching sessions or their one-on-one learn to skate program, simply give Digi’s Roller Skating Rink a call and arrange a suitable time for everyone. Once you start skating, you will wonder why you didn’t try it years ago – it is so much fun!
